It is hard to believe that we are at the one-year mark of COVID-19 taking over our world and shifting our lives. Individually, professionally, and as an association, we have pivoted through the pains of this pandemic and have come out stronger. We have explored new modalities, developed dynamic resources, and achieved successes we may not have reached had we not been forced to think differently about our work.
Last month, hundreds of you provided feedback regarding your comfort level and ability to participate in the 2021 National Conference in Baltimore, MD scheduled November 8-10. The responses were clear, you are MORE than ready to be back together, but safety and budgetary uncertainty still loom.
AHEPPP has made the difficult decision to remain fully virtual for the 2021 Family Engagement in Higher Education National Conference. We know November is many months away. While we anticipate the world will be open and safer by then, a virtual conference ensures that we can all gather without concern about budget restrictions on travel. We thank you for your honest feedback and are looking forward to providing you with the best possible educational experience.
Although we are disappointed to push our in-person reunion back another year, we are excited about the opportunity ahead. The 2020 virtual conference was our top attended conference to date and the level of engagement and programming was exceptional! Making this decision now allows our 2021 committee to hit the ground running and create an event that you can count on to be educational and engaging.
