2025 Spring Summits Planning Committee Chair Information & Application
Leadership Position: 2025 Spring Summits Planning Committee Chair Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors and Executive Director Length of Term: September 2024 - May 2025 Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week, varies
Position Description: The Spring Summits Chair provides leadership and strategic direction for the two annual virtual Spring Summits. Leading a team of volunteers, the Chair ensures the success of the Spring Summits from start to finish by maintaining that all aspects of the event align with AHEPPP's mission, vision, and values as the premier association for family engagement at the collegiate level.

- Applicants must submit a short-answer reply to the following prompt (limit to 500 words):
- Please write a brief statement describing why you would like to serve as 2025 Family Engagement in Higher Education Spring Summits Committee Chair.
- Outline the skills and experience you have that will contribute to leading the planning committee.
- Share specific ideas or suggestions you have for the 2025 summits.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary role on the Spring Summits committee leadership team which includes the AHEPPP Executive Director and the AHEPPP Board of Directors liaison
- Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors liaison to establish the summit’s topics, concepts, and design, including the technical, operational, and digital footprint
- Oversee the administrative and logistical management of the summits
- Actively support committee members for maximized engagement and participation
- Serve as the Master of Ceremonies for both Spring Summits and assist with technology management
- Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors Liaison to develop a communications plan and develop materials as needed
- Prepare and submit a conference final report (executive summary) as directed to document decisions, activities, results of new programs, and recommendations of importance to the incoming committee, 2026 Chair, and the Board of Directors
Desired Qualifications:
- A current member of the association with at least three years of experience engaging with parents and families and the collegiate level. Applicants do not have to officially be part of a parent and family program at their institution to serve as Spring Summits Chair; they can come from any office, department, or program from an AHEPPP member institution that engages with parents and families of college students.
- Strong organizational skills
- Relational, collaborative, and responsive
- Ability to meet regularly with Planning Team members
- Ability to attend the two Spring Summits
