AHEPPP Virtual Conference Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at the AHEPPP 2021 National Virtual Conference are required to agree with the following Code of Conduct which aligns with our association bylaws and in accordance with our association’s espoused values with particular attention paid to our shared belief and commitment to the following:

  • supporting a collaborative environment

  • responsible and ethical behavior

  • leading innovation and ideas for the profession

  • diversity and inclusion

The AHEPPP Conference Committee is dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive virtual conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, experience, or religion. AHEPPP welcomes and encourages participation from all individuals who support the Association’s mission and values and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, ability, appearance, age, class, protected veteran status, geographic/regional location, institutional type, professional title or position. 

Expected Behavior

AHEPPP Members and Event Attendees are expected to conduct themselves in all conversations, events, and settings with:

  • Respect, thoughtfulness, and professionalism in both speech and action;

  • Integrity in their professional relationships;

  • Respect for individuals’ personal boundaries and conduct;

  • Behavior that is free from demeaning, discriminatory, insulting, or harassing language or actions, in person or online;

  • A spirit of support and collaboration.

The Conference Committee and AHEPPP Board of Directors will enforce this Code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

AHEPPP has zero-tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment. If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, AHEPPP asks that you inform a member of the AHEPPP Board or Lindsay McKinney, AHEPPP Executive Director, at [email protected] so that we can take the appropriate action. You are free to report anonymously or share your name and contact information for follow-up by AHEPPP staff.

AHEPPP reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the conference without refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, and AHEPPP reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting, virtually or in person.
